With a Tourist Day Ticket, you enjoy unlimited travel by bus, tram, metro and waterbus throughout the Dutch province of South Holland for a fixed price for a whole day. This province is filled to the brim with exciting sights, cities and attractions, so this might be a bit overwhelming. To ensure you get the maximum value out of your Tourist Day Ticket, we composed some inspirational routes. You will keep your eyes busy on this route, as all three activities offer breathtaking views!
Start off your day at the windmills of Kinderdijk. These 19 authentic mills from the 18th century and are an excellent early example of the Dutch expertise in water management. The mills provide a spectacular sight and form a quaint and traditional Dutch landscape that is well worth visiting during your stay in the Netherlands.
Rotterdam is only a little way northwest of Kinderdijk and is a logical next stop. One of the nicest outdoor activities you can undertake in Rotterdam is a board one of Spido’s boats for a cruise through Rotterdam’s impressive port, which is actually the largest in Europe. Marvel at the sheer scale of this wonder of industry and engineering while enjoying a cool breeze through your hair.
A short tram or metro ride away from the Spido docks you’ll find the Euromast. This imposing tower is over 180 metres tall and is one of the eyecatchers of Rotterdam’s skyline. If you climb it you will have a stunning view over the entire city and its surroundings. If the weather is clear you can even see other cities, such as Delft and The Hague. The Euromast is opened during the evening, making it a logical place to end your day trip!
